Melivorak / Material thinking & tactile prototypes

Make room for the material to answer.

Melivorak is a fieldguide for people who learn by handling things. It brings material observation, small prototypes and careful documentation into one place. We favour a modest sample tested well over a board full of attractive surfaces with no record of how they behave.

Observation before specification

The sample library offers vocabulary for what you can see and feel. Its comparison desk suggests questions rather than scoring materials. The aim is a clearer experiment, not a universal ranking.

Samples before conclusions

Melivorak is a collection of prompts for observing texture, structure and joining. The pictured workbenches are original illustrative scenes rather than evidence of a laboratory, accredited course or client commission. The guide is written in English without a claimed local studio.

Keep a labelled sample and a record of the conditions you tried. Comparing two similar pieces is more informative than assigning an entire material a fixed personality. Use the guide for a small controlled bend study, then return to the comparison table with your own observations.
